A year ago I was staring at my tiny baby boy realizing my world had changed. I was tired but didn’t care to rest. I just stared at this new little person by my side and thought —wow, I am a mom… Better get my act together, someone else (quite literally) depends on me!
Today was my lil’ man’s first birthday. Hard to believe, but 365 days have indeed passed- and what an amazing journey this has been.
I tried to capture every every milestone during his first year. Did the baby photo album solidly for the first 6 months but have the remaining six to complete. Pictures stored. Notes and observations taken. Captured the moments of rapid change- but feel I could have done better. I think I did my best- but hey, I’m a Virgo, it’s hard to shake the ‘perfectionist’ in me!
Today was all about Ketan. He loves walks, we went for a walk. He loves birds, we gawked at them and let them know there was a birthday boy in the house. He fought me on wearing his winter hat, but it was cold and even though it was his birthday proper, he had to wear it! Mean mama!
We set a festive birthday table. Using vintage Hallmark. Love these table settings. Looove!
We made a double-decker birthday cake.
We enjoyed toasting with Champagne… Very good stuff!
We opened presents. The Jack is for daddy… in case you were thinking of calling CPS!?
Sock Monkey for Ketan… MONKEY!!!!
Ketan’s Auntie wrote and played him a song.
We gave party favors.
He enjoyed his birthday cake.
Today we celebrated a very special person. I love you more than all the stars in the sky. Happy 1st birthday Ketan. xo Mama.
